Based on Landsat TM data from 1992 to 2017, the second-class survey data of Jianshui County forest resources and the monitoring data of rocky desertification in Yunnan Province, with Mann-Kendall mutation analysis and trend analysis, the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of vegetation and the restoration of vegetation in different rocky desertification restoration models in Jianshui County of Yunnan Province in the past 25 years were discussed. The study found that during the 25 years, the vegetation cover of Jianshui County showed an overall upward trend with an average growth rate of 0.065%/10a. Since 2008, the growth rate increased from 0.077%/10a to 0.475%/10a. The area of vegetation cover in Jianshui County showed an increasing trend, no significant change, and the proportion of reduction trend was 55.32%, 34.44% and 10.24% respectively. For different restoration models, within the restoration time range of ten years, there was not much difference in the effect of vegetation restoration under the pure ecological forest mode and the mixed ecological forest mode. Within the restoration time range of 25 years, the mixed ecological forest mode vegetation restoration rate was obviously better than pure ecological forest restoration mode, and the advantages were mainly displayed in the later stage of restoration. In terms of species selection of pure ecological forest model, broad-leaved forests and alders had better restoration effects in the short term; in the long run, Yunnan pine and Che sang-tzu were better restoration species. In the mixed ecological forest model, the coniferous mixed forest restoration rate was the best both in the range of ten and twenty-five years, indicating mixed ecological forest model is a better mixed model. The study revealed the effects of different governance models on vegetation restoration, and provided a theoretical basis for optimizing
ecological restoration methods in rocky desertification areas.

Yihe Town, located in Fuling District, Chongqing, is taken as the research object, and Logistic regression model is applied to analysis the relationship between the land use pattern of cultivated land, garden land, forest land, transport land, waters and water conservancy facility land, urban village and industrial land and its influencing factors, which consists of the natural factors, economic factors and social factors. The results show that the natural factors of the town are the fundamental restrictive factors of land use patterns while the economic factors and social factors have a more and more significant impact. The regression coefficients of the nearest distance to the settlements, the river and the road are negative, which means that the land distributes near the location factors, and the effect of radius farming is significant in area with complicated geomorphology. The distance to the Lidu Industrial Park is not significant for all kinds of land use types, which means that the rapid development of the Lidu Industrial Park does not bring a big impact on the land use pattern of the town.

From 2003 to 2012, 446 times of survey had been conducted on community structure of birds at Yanyuan, Peking University. 234 of them, on which 468 hours had been spent from 2010 to 2012, were weekly transact surveys, twice in spring and autumn while once in summer and winter. Up to 178 species, belonging to 102 genera of 37 families of 14 orders, had been recorded. Among them, there are 24 residents, 117 migrants, 24 summer visitors, 19 winter visitors and 1 vagrant. One of them is listed as the 1st class of China National Protected Wildlife, whilst 20 species as the 2nd class. 28 species of waterbirds were recorded. On different sub-regions of Yanyuan, the most species-poor one is Jingyuan, where only 28 species were recorded . The most species-rich one is Mingheyuan, where 109 species were recorded. The mosaic landscape of meandering swamps and mounds covered by semi-natural secondary forest in Mingheyuan and Jingchunyuan accommodates the richest bird community in Yanyuan. 73 species were restricted to these sites. The ratios of secondary forests and greenbelts in each sub-region are chief factors affecting the abundance of bird species.
